Cinnamon Sugar Crunchy Bites

I had a recipe testing fail, but I was determined to end fryer week on a high note. Insert the Crunch Bites… They are versatile and can be used to scoop, dip, or top any other sweet pairing of your wildest dreams. For the purpose of this recipe, all I had on hand was coffee ice cream. Other things that would pair wonderfully with these addicting bites would be a cream cheese dip, whipped cream dip, fruit sauce, or even chocolate sauce.

I am more than happy with how these came out and cannot wait to make more for a party snack in the future. Likewise, these can be adapted for a more savory option (scroll to learn more). Please make sure you #OvenBakedbyBianca to show me how you made this!

Ingredients

Wonton wrappers

Frying oil

Cinnamon

Sugar

How to Make it

Start heating an inch of frying oil in a wide saucepan to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

While waiting for oil to heat, cut Wonton wrappers into half inch strips (I cut mine into thirds).

Take the strip, twist it, and seal the two ends together with just a dab of water on your fingers. This way, the crunchy bites have some additional texture and visual appeal.

Place all the finished twists into the 350 degree fryer oil, and use a spider to flip them after 30 seconds to one minute.

Once you hear the oil quiet down after another 30 seconds, the crunchy bites are ready to come out onto a plate cover in a paper towel.

Lastly, sprinkle on equal parts cinnamon and sugar, then shake in a bowl.

Notes

You can make these into super savory bites! Just add season salt, ranch powder, or garlic salt instead of the cinnamon and sugar mixture! If you are feeling bold, add some paprika or any other spices of your liking!
